NFL on Xbox & Win 10

Big Park (Microsoft)

Overview

Back in 2013 when Microsoft had landed a deal with NFL, we started working on the NFL on Xbox One application. This was a fun, challenging project working with a premium brand. It's goal was to stream live football games to your console, as well as bring stats, highlights, scores and NFL Fantasy as an interactive layer on top of it all with a premium user interface.

I was part of the team designing out and building our core user experience that we saw as the future for the console, that we could bring to other media applications that we were currently working on.

2013 Xbox Experience

Our first iteration of the NFL app on Xbox brought the introduction of what we called the 'J' frame and the 'L' frame. This was navigation and content that surrounds the live video feed. Our core experience also included a 'Snap Mode', which was a new feature for the console at the time. Allowing the run tailed for Snap Mode, while you were playing a game, or watching TV through the HDMI In on the console.,

2014 Xbox Experience

Our second iteration brought a more polished and broadcast look and feel to our presentation.

2015 Xbox Experience

A completely overhauled 2015 experience was created to align with the Windows 10 experience that we developed in parallel.
